Summer is Here

The 51st year of summer camp started at Peach Valley last Sunday with the Camp Emmeaus session.  We are looking forward to another great summer helping kids have fun getting to know God and his creation.

There were some exciting improvements during the off-season.  The boy’s bathroom got a new roof, counter, sinks and paint.  The finishing touches are being put on the Fordtran cabin for use this summer.  It provides comfortable accommodations for 12 with a full bath, and a great A/C system.  Thanks to all who helped with their time and donations over the years.

The Board will be meeting in August to prepare for the coming year and beyond.  The original cabins are now over 70 years old so replacing these will be a top priority for the coming years.

Thanks to all for continuing the great service to the youth of South Central Texas (and beyond).

“Saving the World…One child at a time”

February 16, 2013

Dear Brethren,

Peach Valley Christian Youth Camp, which is located between Gonzales and Shiner, Texas, is operated by a Board of Directors made up of members of the Church of Christ throughout the South Texas area.

Peach Valley opened for its first camp sessions in 1963, and since that time young people have attended the camp every summer to learn more about the Bible and grow closer to Christ.

This year we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary on April 20th.  In an effort to contact everyone who has ever been a teacher, counselor, camper, or in any way been involved with Peach Valley, we are asking congregations throughout Texas to please add this to your announcements, post it on your bulletin board, or include it in your bulletin.

We ask that anyone who has been involved with Peach Valley in the past to please join our Facebook group page (PEACH VALLEY CHRISTIAN YOUTH CAMP) so that they can be kept up to date on all the details of our Anniversary celebration. Anyone who does not have access to Facebook, or wishes to contact someone directly, is welcome to call or contact any of the board members listed at the bottom of this letter.

Thank you for helping us to find some of our long-lost friends,

Camp 2012

Thanks to all those from Central Texas down to the Gulf who came and made camp a great year.

The kids had a great time learning about God’s creation and it was the first time that the campers actually wanted bugs at camp (for their collection)!

We had great weather and food. If you attended Peach Valley any time since 1963 or have been a friend of the camp, request to join our Facebook group – http://www.facebook.com/groups/283654915025544/

God Bless the kids and Peach Valley
